Final Fantasy X is a turn-based JRPG and uses the conditional turn based system to determine the order in which combatants go. It is conditional in the sense that the action a character is using determines the placement in the turn order for subsequent turns. Using Action A may place you earlier or later in the turn order than Action B. The goal of this post is to look at whether these turn order changes should be looked at more carefully than faster == better, i.e. whether specific configurations of turn orders, such as Character A following Character B, matter, and if so, how, and if not, how they can be made to matter. After all, the information is there - it can be reasoned about. Turn order changes in Final Fantasy X, yes, so what?
